PROJECTORS

LCD projectors have plummeted in price over the past few years to now be amazingly affordable business and home use. All projectors have 2 main specifications that will differ. They refer to the Brightness and Resolution that each can display.

The ANSI lumen rating given to each projector gives you an idea of how bright each unit can project. More importantly the brighter the lumens, the better you can view the projected images with brighter ambient light around you. If you are projecting outdoors or near open windows, you would need somewhere over 2500 lumens. In a dark room, anything over 1000 would be fine.

The resolution of the projectors are available in two flavours. 800x600 (SVGA) or 1024x768 (XGA). For PowerPoint presentations, watching TV or DVD’s, SVGA resolution would be fine. XGA is essential when demonstrating software packages or using programs like Photoshop, Publisher and Excel because they will give you much more desktop real-estate to work with.
